Create your own definition of ...
Courtney R. Hebert
47:32
Dr. Schneider. The image placeholder that you see in the template is meant to be replaced with an image of your choosing that correlates to your Module topic. We recommend including an image to aid visual learners and also to enhance the look and feel of your course. We will discuss more about this in Workshop #2.
Courtney R. Hebert
48:05
Great example Dr. Stapleton!
Tonya Gauna
55:38
Will it count as present if I have to leave the meeting early because I have an athlete to tutor at 12? If I need to make up the time I don't have an issue with that either. Thank you!
Courtney R. Hebert
56:09
Hi Dr. Gauna. I have marked everyone who logged on as attended.
Tonya Gauna
57:45
Thank you. I will for sure pick up what I missed in the recording!
Courtney R. Hebert
57:52
You may want to watch the recording for any parts you missed. :)
Wanda Hargroder
01:01:18
Having issues with my first online exam. Must leave but will return once this fire is put out.
Courtney R. Hebert
01:02:11
No problem, Dr. Hargroder. We will be sure that you all get the recording.
Lisa Nohner
01:08:21
I am teaching English 1001. I intend to give students a reading on the rhetorical triangle and have them follow up with providing examples of each rhetorical technique.
Lisa Nohner
01:08:26
Of their own choosing, of course.
Julia Ledet
01:08:40
Use videos to explain the mathematics being covered.
Julia Ledet

Create timelines on specific topics with a designated group; and then have groups compare and contrast the timelines
Caroline Schneider
01:09:51
Create a flowchart of how concepts connect within a module.
Julia Ledet
01:09:53
Yes you need subtitles. I currently have a deaf student. My videos are on YouTube and this includes captioning. I have a grad student working on the captioning, correcting the machine captioning on YouTube.
Julia Ledet
01:10:18
I also write a lot so it is about doing videos for me.
Caroline Schneider
01:10:49
@Alfonso — we will likely have grad student TAs over the summer that maybe can help with captioning.
Julia Ledet
01:11:49
I have found that using Zoom to record to the cloud that you get closed captioning. I have discovered that it is easy to edit the captioning.
Lisa Nohner
01:12:05
Wait, do PDFs require additional accessibility measures?
Lisa Nohner
01:12:12
Wait, nevermind.
Lisa Nohner
01:12:19
I'm aware of that.
Lisa Nohner
01:12:32
I meant power points.
Julia Ledet
01:12:41
Is that the paid version of Adobe?
William Strecker
01:12:45
I'm teaching English 2000. I'm already using some short videos from the Purdue Online Writing Lab. They are already captioned, and I use them in conjunction with a discussion forum.
Emily Marcinowski
01:13:00
My course is on motor development across the lifespan. So a great resource for this is YouTube. I extensively search for those parent uploaded videos of their babies and kids behaving in real life. That way, students with no experience with kids can see real world examples of how young children move and behave in real life that aren't airbrushed company commercials or parenting videos.
Caroline Schneider
01:13:37
@Julia - yes, I think you’re correct. Only the paid version of Adobe has this ability.
Julia Ledet
01:14:00
Thanks Caroline!

Margaret Thomas
01:18:36
What happens in a synchronous study session?
Courtney R. Hebert
01:19:54
Dr. Thomas, it could be a time for students to ask questions, clarify concepts, "quiz" one another, or something similar that makes sense for your course content/situation.
Courtney R. Hebert
01:22:42
In Workshop #2, we will take a closer look at the 2020 Summer Online Moodle Template and how to edit it.
