The workshop will present an overview of export controls in the academic community and will address the following questions: How do I know if my proposal or project involves export controls and what do I do if it does? What are EAR and ITAR and what is the difference? What types of activities require an export control license? What is a technology control plan? The emerging issues regarding foreign influence over research will also be addressed. Concerns being raised at the federal level will be discussed as well as disclosure obligations.
